Squishy Taylor is the 11-year-old half-Fijian heroine of this exciting new series, living with her dad, step-mum and the ‘bonus sisters’ while her mum is in Geneva with the UN. She’s energetic. hilarious and curious (not to say snooping!) about the world around her. Aimed at 8 to 12 year olds, the series is written by Ailsa Wild with occasional illustrations by Ben Wood.
The first book (The Bonus Sisters) deals with learning how to be in a step-family and investigating the strange man in the basement. The second, A Question of Trust, sees Squishy and the Bonus Sisters investigating the Boring Lady and smuggling, while the third — just out in March — is called The Vase that Wasn’t, and investigates the case of the missing vase from the locked room.
And what’s even better is the exciting competition now open. Come in to the store, pick up your postcard, write how much you love Squishy Taylor, and send it off before Tuesday 31 May, 2016. (You can find out more about the amazing prizes, including a bike and helmet, here.)
It’s a fun new series, give it a read!
