We are delighted to be partnering with Allen & Unwin to present our first Sunday Stories in conversation with the fabulous Australian author Heather Rose. Most readers will be aware of Heather’s seventh and most recent book about the artist Marina Abramovic, Museum of Modern Love which was critically acclaimed, showered with prizes and adored by the public, including us at Fairfield Books. It won The Stella, The Christina Stead Prize, The Margaret Scott Prize and was shortlisted for many others. It has been published and applauded internationally and became the first ever book to be launched at New York’s Museum of Modern Art, a place of great significance in the novel. Heather’s new book Bruny is out in October and once again it is a provocative and prescient novel. Part thriller, love story, satire and family saga, it focuses on intimate relationships while at the same time asking how far a government might go to achieve its aims. It will be a relaxed event with wine and cheese and plenty of bookish conversation about Bruny as well as Heather’s considerable writing career. Bookings are ESSENTIAL and this will be a ticketed event with bookings made through Try Booking. We’d be delighted if you can join us!
