Ever wondered how Peter Pan got to be the head of the Lost Boys? This series, jointly written by US authors Dave Barry and Ridley Pearson, forms a prequel to J.M. Barrie’s famous tale, each a fast-paced, swashbuckling read for kids aged about 10 and up (*great* for those reluctant boy readers). It has been a great success in the UK and the US, is currently being performed as a Broadway musical, and we have the first three books in stock – Peter and the Star Catchers, Peter and the Shadow Thieves and Peter and the Secret of Rundoon (each $16.95). (We also have a couple editions of the original Peter Pan at $10.)
Another interesting story about the boy who never grows up is that a portion of all profits from these prequels and Peter Pan itself go to the Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity. Barrie gifted the rights to Peter Pan to the hospital in 1929, and the hospital is also home to a library of rare and translated Peter Pan editions from around the world.
