The shortlist for the 2012 Man Booker Prize has recently been announced. The six shortlisted authors this year include three women and three men, four of them Brits, one Malaysian and one Indian. Of the six, two authors are established heavyweights in the industry, while two are debut novelists. The shortlist is:
The Garden of Evening Mists by Tan Twan Eng
Swimming Home by Deborah Levy
Bring Up the Bodies by Hilary Mantel
The Lighthouse by Alison Moore
Umbrella by Will Self
Narcopolis by Jeet Thayil
We don’t have all of the shortlisted titles in stock, but all are on order so hopefully will be available soon. The winner will be announced on the 16th October.
