The Elements by Theodore Gray

Theodore Gray has compiled a lovely, interesting, informative book about the stuff of which everything is made.  There are only 100 or so basic materials that are used in nature to make us all and the universe around us.  This is a fantastic resource as an introduction to chemistry. And for all those with an interest in or nostalgia for school-day science class – stink bombs, incendiary magnesium ribbon, potty putty, jet-boat sodium, mercury droplets on the floor!  All is explained within.  And at only $49.95, you simply can’t go wrong!
