Indigenous Australia for Dummies. Seriously.

A lot of people discount the Dummies series of books because they either don’t want to be seen to be reading such a title, or they think they aren’t serious books.  Think again.  Indigenous Australia for Dummies is written by Professor Larissa Behrendt so you should be in no doubt that it is a worthwhile book on the subject.  Larissa is Aboriginal herself and is Professor of Law and Director of Research at the Jumbunna Indigenous House of Learning at the University of Technology, Sydney.

The book came about because when in the United States, Larissa saw a similar title on indigenous Americans and thought it would be a good idea to have one for Australia.  So she has written it!

There are detailed contents pages and a comprehensive index so you can look for specific topics if that is how you want to use it.  Or you can just start at the beginning and read it. The style is not too academic and very user friendly.  It has appeal and use for everyone who has any level of interest in Aboriginal Australia.  $39.95
