Thanks to Scholastic this July we’ve got a range of books to give away with purchase of ANY EJ12 book!
This great deal is while stocks last. EJ12; Girl Hero is a great role model for young girls and, bonus, they love the books! We’ve noticed they have increased in popularity recently, so this deal is bound to be a popular one.
(Note: the free books are NOT EJ12, see in store for details)
Sign up for one of our email newsletters in store during July and you could win a weekly prize!
For July the prize, sponsored by Macmillan, is an ADVANCE copy of Vanessa Diffenbaugh’s The Language of Flowers. This book isn’t going to be published until September, get in ahead of the crowds!
We’ve been doing our email newsletters for quite awhile now. We started off with just one but, like with our blogs, we realised children’s books were taking over! So we’ve got a general adult newsletter and a separate children’s one which go out around once every two months. More recently we’ve added a Crime Quarterly as a lot of crime gets read by various staff, so there’s always lots of material!
There are new editions of all the newsletters on the way in July, the first of which will be our 4th ever Crime Quarterly.
A little while ago, my Hachette rep showed me a copy of the book The Other Hand by Chris Cleave in an interesting new design for a book. It is called a Flipback, and it is set to take on the E reader in a neat, compact form. The paper is very thin, meaning that the text can still be a reasonable size but the full book comes down to a very small package. I had to be convinced that it was the whole book, and I can assure you it is all there. There is an initial release of 11 titles of strong titles in mid July with more to come in October. They will be $20.
The titles coming soon are listed below, and check out the clip to see how they work. We will have the range in store so come in and have a look.
@booksforcooksAU That sounds v good. Although our red snapper with green tahini sauce & pomegranate was pretty damn good too. Good ol' Otto 8 hours ago
